In Summer 1 in RE, the children explored beliefs of different faiths and focused on similarities between the faiths. Children are developing their understanding around sharing is a common value across all faiths.

Stick Together! - EYFS

In Reception, the children explored how different communities come together in shared spaces. They demonstrated their understanding by designing and building their own shared structures (bamboo tents).

Sacred Suppers - KS1

In Year 1, the children explored the Jewish faith (Shabbat). Shabbat is a special meal Jews share during passover. The children reflected upon this idea and thought about religious festivals where they had shared a meal that was special to them with friends and family.

Sikh to Share - LKS2

In Year 3, the children explored the theme of sharing in Sikhism. They learnt about selfless service and generosity to others. They understood that Sikh’s believe in equality and sharing resources with this less fortunate than themselves through langar.

Journey of the Soul - UKS2

In Year 5, the children were discussing Hindu themes around reincarnation and what happens after death. Children made links to their own faiths. In addition, to this the children looked at factual information to compare death and life in two different religions. Culminating in sharing their own beliefs in what happens what when we die.
