Nursery admissions

To request a place for a child to attend our Nursery, parents should complete an application form which is available from the school office in person or by emailing sao@heronsgate.greenwich.sch.uk.

Children can come to the Nursery part time from the term after their third birthday (spaces permitting). We offer places first to those who have brothers and sisters already in the school, then Greenwich children living closest to the school and then children living in other boroughs ranked according to home/school distance. Applicants may be given higher priority if they have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP), are looked after or on the grounds of professionally supported medical or social need for our school.

Nursery Admissions Procedure

Admissions for year groups Reception to Year 6

In-year admissions (pupils moving schools)

Admissions to our school are managed by the admissions authority, the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Information about how to apply for a place can be found on the Borough’s website here, including information about your right to appeal.

Starting Reception in September (pupils starting school for the first time)

If your child turns four on or before August 31st 2023 you must apply to the Royal Borough of Greenwich for a primary school place.
Information about how to apply for a place can be found on the Borough’s website here, including information about your right to appeal.

Please note: children attending Heronsgate nursery need to apply to join the Reception class. Our friendly nursery staff can help parents through this process.

Applying to a specific campus

On the initial application, parents apply to Heronsgate Primary School.

Once a place has been offered, our heads of school will ask families for their preferred campus. Whilst we can not guarantee a specific campus we will always do our best to meet the requests of parents.
