Friends of Faith
Across the school in Spring 1 children explored commitment to God through different faiths and how someone’s actions exemplifies their understanding of how God wants them to treat the world. Through reflection children were able to make links to their own faith or understanding of the world.
New Year, New Me - EYFS
In Reception, the children discussed New Year's resolutions. They reflected upon what commitments they would like to make in looking after nature in their outside areas.
God’s Good Books - KS1
In Year 1, the children thought about a Christian’s commitment to God and his creation. They reflected upon whether, in their opinion, god would be happy or unhappy with the way humans are looking after his creation. The children used iPads to support their learning by leaving a voice note explaining their thoughts/ideas.
Divinities, Denominations, Differences - LKS2
In Year 3, the children explored how three different faiths understand how the world came into being and their commitment in looking after the world that was created by God. After discussing the similarities and difference they reflected upon their own attitudes to life, living things and the world.
Five Pillars, and Ramadan - UKS2
In Year 5, the children reflected upon their learning of the five pillars of Islam and discussed which pillar they considered to show a Muslim’s greatest commitment to Allah. We also presented our learning to parents and the school during both KS1 and KS2 during the Ramadan period.
