Finesse in the Nest

Hand-Eye Coordination with a Catch - EYFS

In the EYFS group room children have been working on their fine and gross motor skills. They took part in a magnetic fishing game, this engaging and interactive game aids in improving fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and communication abilities in a fun and playful environment.

Dough-ing it to the Beat - KS1

The pupils in the Nest have been taking part in Dough Disco, which involves moulding play dough in sync with music and performing different actions such as rolling it into a ball, flattening it, putting each individual finger into the dough, rolling it into a sausage and squeezing it. These exercises are great for the fingers and to improve fine motor control and gross motor skills.

Sweet Skills in the Making - LKS2

In the Nest children decorated biscuits in order to explore food through fun. This also enabled children to practice using their fine motor skills creating beautiful patterns. By spreading the icing on the biscuits, the student learned hand-eye coordination as they focused on applying the icing within the lines of the biscuit shape.

Sportacus Work With Us - UKS2

In the Nest, we have sports coaching sessions run by qualified coaches from Sportacus. This is a great way for the children to work on skills such as listening, team work and following instructions. It is also excellent for hand-eye coordination and to encourage the children to keep active. They also have lots of fun whilst taking part.
