Platform Cricket

On Monday 16th June, a squad of ten Year 4 players attended the 2025 Platform Cricket Festival at the Academy, Woolwich. It was a scorching day, requiring plenty of bottle refills in the pavilion.

We lost our first game 219 - 231 to eventual tournament winners, Greenslade A. Our confindence and play improved in the second to clinch a 231 - 224 win against Windrush. However, we then lost 211 - 218 in a tight, defensive game against Caldwell.

Following the group round, we continued to practise on the first class ground and watched some of the final matches to see what we could learn. It was clearly a very close tournament with not much separating us from the finalists. Though we came away without silverware, we played well, improved throughout, and can be proud of our progress and performance!
