Version Me: 2.0!

Through our Going for Gold strand of learning in Spring, the children learn how to be their best selves. They begin to learn about their own positive attributes in EYFS. They begin to recognise that both similarities and differences make them special. This is built upon in KS1 in thinking about what the child do well and acknowledging their successes. In KS2 this then gains a more outward looking focus, the children learn how they can positively affect others and then in Year 6 they look into the future and the way that everything that they have learned can help them in their adult lives.

Cedric, The Silent Snail of Solice - Nursery

In Nursery we have been learning that people are all unique and special. We are like others in some ways and different in others and that’s ok! We have used Cedric the snail in circle time and hold him when its our turn to say something that we like or makes us special. If we aren’t ready to share our ideas in a big voice we hug or whisper to Cedric.

Pride of a Lion - Year 2

In Year 2, we thought about what it means to be proud. We discussed how being proud of something is a lovely feeling and it is something that we can share with others. We also discussed how different people can feel proud for different reasons. Then the children thought about a time they felt proud of something they did.

Be the Change… - Year 4

In Year 4, we have been learning about the traits we need to demonstrate in order to be a good role model for others.

Career Day - Year 6

In Year 6, children had a careers day where they were able to think about future goals. They met a range of role models from all different backgrounds with different careers. They thought about what they wanted to be when they’re older and carefully planned small steps to help them achieve their dreams.
