As part of their topic ‘Down on the Docks’, classes from Year 3 went to the Museum of London Docklands on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd February 2018’. They went on the trip to find out lots of information about the Docklands. We found out about different important boats that were used over time around the Docklands and also drew some. As well as this, we learned about the various uses of the River Thames. We also looked at the area of Canary Wharf and discussed how it was convenient for businesses to develop close to the river. In school, children will be researching a famous vessel called ‘The Great Harry, what life was like as a dock worker and how things have changed in the modern day.
