Specsavers High-Visibility Jackets for All Reception Children at Heronsgate

The giving season has come early and Specsavers have been extremely generous- delivering snazzy and lustrous high-visibility jackets for every single Reception child across both school sites.

At Heronsgate, we encourage walking, scooting and cycling to and from school as part of a healthy lifestyle as well as to reduce pollution. These Specsavers jackets will help our younger children to stand out more when actively travelling, particularly in these darker mornings and evenings when drivers may be impacted by the low light levels and the glare of other vehicles.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will be continuing our ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ initiative within school, involving a video presentation to all classes from our Junior Travel Ambassadors, an artwork competition and the ongoing current sQuid sale of reflective road safety items.

Huge thanks to Specsavers, the Brake road safety charity and the Road Safety Officers of the Royal Borough of Greenwich for helping keep us all safe this winter.

Best wishes,
The Healthy Schools and Travel Team
