Friday 3rd April – Day 10

MATHS

Complete the fluency and addition worksheets. Count on in tens and use the column method. You can use the annotation tools to complete the task or work on paper and upload a photo of your work.

Remember to log on to Mathletics as well and complete the activities that have been assigned for you!

ENGLISH

Look over your pictures and notes from yesterday. What happened to Goldilocks and the three bears?

Today you are going to write your continuation of the story of Goldilocks and the three bears in full sentences. You need to use full stops and capital letters, adjectives (describing words), expanded noun phrases and conjunctions to describe the setting and character at different points in your story.

Example:
After Goldilocks was discovered by the bears she ran quickly through the woods. She tripped on a fallen tree and got her colourful dress caught on a thorny bush but even that didn’t stop her from running home. Goldilocks was very upset and annoyed with herself because she realised that she had not thought about the feelings of others.

Steps to success:

  • Punctuation (full stops, commas, exclamation marks, capital letters)
  • Adjectives to describe
  • Conjunctions: because, and, but, when, if, that

Geography focus: Use the annotation tools on Showbie to Label each country in the red boxes and label each countries capital in the green boxes.

Use the UK cities facts booklet to research one interesting fact about each capital city in the UK! Use the voice note tool on Showbie to tell me your interesting facts or use pencil and paper and upload a picture to Showbie.

Thursday 2nd April – Day 9

MATHS

Complete the fluency and addition worksheet.

Check your answers from yesterday’s maths learning and correct if you need to.

Remember to log on to Mathletics.

ENGLISH

What do you think will happen next in the story?

Continue the story of Goldilocks and the three bears using the template provided. Draw three pictures and underneath each picture write about what the characters do next and where they go. See the example below to help.

Success Criteria:

  • Adjectives
  • Expanded noun phrases
  • Time conjunctions (Then, after, next, later)
  • Speech and thought bubbles

CREATIVE CURRICULUM

PSHCE focus: Today you’ll watch some videos and answer some questions to test your knowledge of what you can do to stay healthy. Then colour in the rainbow and see if you can name a fruit or vegetable for each colour! If you want to show me a healthy meal take a picture of a balance healthy meal you’re having for lunch or dinner!

  1. Open your activity sheet on Showbie and use the annotation tools to complete or use pencil and paper to answer the questions. If you use pencil and paper, make sure you write down the question number so I can see which question you are answering.
  2. Complete the activity sheet – click on the video links when instructed to do so on the activity sheet.
  3. Make sure your completed activity sheet is saved on Showbie or upload a picture of your answers if you have used pencil and paper.
  4. Have a go at colouring in the rainbow and completing the box to match a fruit or vegetable that matches the colours of the rainbow. If you want to you can upload a picture of your healthy meal you’re having for lunch or dinner at home too!

Wednesday 1st April – Day 8

Maths

Complete the fluency and addition by counting on using the number lines and the hundred square to support you. You can do this using pencil and paper or by using the annotation tools on Showbie.

Remember to Log onto Mathletics today.

English 

Pick a character from the story Goldilocks and the three bears. Use the pictures to help you choose if you need to. 

Using adjectives and expanded noun phrases write a paragraph to describe what the character looks like (appearance). Don’t forget your capital letters and full stops. 

Eg. Goldilocks has thick, curly blonde hair. 

Use adjectives to describe their personality. 

Eg. Goldilocks is very unkind when she eats all of the porridge.

Creative Curriculum – Science

Yesterday you designed your own super hybrid animal; today you are going to write an animal profile to describe its features, habitat and what it eats.

Use the annotations tools and the profile template on Showbie or just use the template as a guide and create your profile with pencil and paper or your book.


  1. Try to include a drawing of your super hybrid animal in your profile – either cut around the one you’ve already drawn and stick it onto your template or draw it again.
  2. Write facts for each of the following sub headings:


Adaptations – Features that your animal has developed to help it survive.

Diet – What your animal hunts and eats.


Environment – Your animal’s natural habitat (the type of environment and an example)

Fun Fact – An amazing and interesting fact about your animal!

Tuesday 31st March – Day 7

MATHS

Complete the fluency and number pattern learning.

Also complete your Mathletics tasks that has been assigned.

ENGLISH

Reread the story from yesterday about Goldilocks and the three bears and answer the questions about the text. Remember to use full sentences including full stops and capital letters. Also use because to expand and provide reasons for your answers.

Example:

Question: Why does Goldilocks eat the bears food?

Answer: Goldilocks eats the bears food because she is hungry and can smell the delicious porridge.

CREATIVE CURRICULUM

Science focus: Design your own super hybrid animal.

Use colouring pencils and paper to design your animal like I have done or use the annotation tools on Showbie to draw and colour.

Add some annotations to your drawing, using some scientific words, describing:

  1. Your animal’s physical features.
  2. The environment it lives in.
  3. Adaptations it benefits from. 

Take a picture of your drawing and upload to Showbie.

Monday 30th March – Day 6

MATHS

Complete the fluency and place value learning comparing numbers 0 to 100.

Challenge: Explain using your maths vocabulary how you know 75 is greater than 36. You could write, draw of even leave a voice note.

Remeber to use your Mathletics too.

ENGLISH

Read the story of Goldilocks and the three bears.

Answer the questions about the story.

Don’t forget to read the story carefully first before answering the questions using all the comprehension skills we have been practicing in class.
