Crossrail Project

An architect and an engineer who are working on the Crossrail development in Woolwich came to talk to some Years 3-5 children on Monday 11th July. As well as explaining what Crossrail is, they also told us about the history of the ‘dead man’s penny’ that was made in Woolwich Arsenal and was given to families of those that died in WW1. The children designed their own ‘penny’ inspired by Woolwich. The penny they designed could then be chosen to be a part of a permanent sculpture outside the new cross rail station in Woolwich.
