Recently some of Heronsgate’s talented mathematicians took part in a mental arithmetic competition at the Barbican Centre. Heronsgate was among another 52 schools from across London that were privileged enough to be asked to take part.
The aim of the game was to make the number 24 from four different one digit numbers and using any or all of the four different operations. The children had to make 24 as quickly as possible and were under tough timed conditions. Camron in Class 17 said “It was really exciting and we got to be quicker at mental maths. It will help us with maths in everyday life.”
Well done to our team for taking part!
