In March, we celebrated Book Week. The children were involved in a variety of activities to promote an appreciation and love of books.
All classes took part in drama workshops led by members of the English team, based around a book they were reading in class. The children then wrote their own chapters based on the story. Their chapters will be entered into the ‘PENFACTOR’ competition, with winning entries being published and available to buy. Good luck writers!
The week ended with ‘dress as a book character’ day. There were some fantastic costumes on display, which made judging the winners very difficult. Here are this year’s winners:
Winner – Orly (Class 4) as Dorothy
Runner up – Mason (Class 5) as Archie
Winner – Jessica (Class 11) as Angelina Ballerina
Runner up – Mildred (Class 7) as Winnie the Pooh
