Year 3 visit Docklands

On Friday 19th May, classes T13 and T14 spent the day riding the DLR, visiting the Cutty Sark in Greenwich and the Docklands to experience the local area taking in the history of docking as part or our ‘Down at the Docks’ unit.

Throughout the day we identified many original features such as equipment, warehouses and other famous buildings exploring how they may have been used for docking on the Thames, and the effect the Blitz would have had. We also compared it to the modern developments which we associate with Canary Wharf today.
