It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for children as it improves concentration and alertness. However, mornings can often be rushed, making breakfast time stressful or impossible. At Heronsgate we are committed to ensuring all children reach their potential, and having a breakfast, as well as being at school on time, will help children do this. Heronsgate Breakfast club is one way we can help to make this happen.
Heronsgate Breakfast Club runs from Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 8:50 am when the children are taken to their class lines ready for the start of school. This club runs at both Thamesmead and Royal Arsenal campuses.
Breakfast club is only offered to children in Reception to Year 6. During the session, the children are given a healthy breakfast and there are a range of stimulating activities for them to do, including games, art activities and reading. These activities are supervised by 3 members of Heronsgate School staff.
There is a charge of £4.00 per session which can be paid daily or at the beginning of the week.
We aim to promote an enjoyable and healthy breakfast which will last the children through to lunchtime.
Everyday the children will get a choice of:
- Toast with jam or marmite
- A selection of cereals
- Fruit juice
- Hot chocolate
- Selection of fruit
Heronsgate Primary School runs an After School Play Club daily.
The club starts at 3:30 and finishes any time up until 6:00 pm.
It costs £6.50 per session for parents who are working or are eligible to claim Working Tax Credit.
